Start by turning ordinary household items into equipment.  Chairs can be used for push-ups and dips.  Jump ropes are great for aerobic exercise.  Old milk jugs and laundry jugs can be filled with water and converted  into dumbbells. You can also use cat litter containers and cat/dog food.  Got stairs?  Go up and down for 30 minutes

Don’t invest in clothes racks.  Avoid buying equipment that only sees strength training exercises when you remove the clothes that pile up.  Before you make the purchase, make sure you’re going to use the equipment.  This will save you from buyer’s remorse, and keep you from wasting valuable storage space.

Buy smart.  When you know what you want to purchase, save money by checking out online classifieds for used equipment.  Just make sure it’s in good working order before you shell out the cash.  Also, for a great workout, you can buy or stream exercise videos for low to nothing cost classes right in the privacy and convenience of your own home.

The average person spends as much as 90% of their time indoors and that figure spells serious trouble for anyone with allergy or respiratory issues.  One way to determine whether you have an indoor air quality problem is to look at how you or those in your household feel when home:

1. Do you or others sneeze and cough in your home?

2. Do you or others in your home often have an irritated throat, nose or eyes?

Do I Need A Humidifier?

During the winter, the air in many homes has less humidity than it would normally.  Dry air can damage furniture (especially wood furniture), wood floors and sensitive musical instruments. It can also cause dry, itchy skin and irritated throats and eyes.  Basically dehydration of the body.  A lack of moisture in the air is also responsible for the stining static shocks that happen when you touch something. Humidifiers help fight the negative effects of dry air by producing moisture in your house. This moisture keeps your nasal passages and throat from drying out.  If you’re always coughing and congested it’s probably a good idea to install a humidifier in your home.  Talk to your local humidifier dealer if you have any questions.

Am I able to install a Humidifier in My Home?

If you have a furnace or boiler you should be able to install a humidifier.  When you have a furnace the humidifier uses your existing furnace and ductwork to deliver humidity to the entire house. Also, something to keep in mind is that humidifying a house which is heated with a boiler is more difficult than with a furnace.
